Scheduling & Drop Off
- Appointments. You can drop off your vehicle at any time, but to ensure the fastest service, we highly recommend making an appointment. We can't guarantee walk-in work will start the same day you drop off.
- Rescheduling. As a courtesy, we ask that you give us 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, when possible.
- Drop-off. You can drop off your vehicle any time. If you drop off outside business hours, your vehicle is at your own risk until our staff formally checks it in.
- After-hours tow-ins. Accepted. Drop off your vehicle as close to the gate as possible, at your own risk, and put your key in the drop box. If you're unable to park within sight of the shop, please leave us a message (call, text, or voicemail) letting us know where you've left your vehicle.
- Pickup. You can pick up your vehicle during business hours, or after hours only if you've pre-arranged it with the store. Each shop has unique after-hours key drop instructions for your car's safety — if you need help finding a shop's key drop, please call the shop.
- Storage fees. A daily fee applies, starting 72 hours after we complete the authorized work and notify you.
Estimates & Diagnostics
- Written estimates. No charge, and your estimate is valid for 3 months, subject to parts pricing changes.
- Standard ("canned") jobs. Common maintenance services — oil changes, brake jobs, and similar — run at standard, predetermined rates. Just ask at booking or during your inspection for the current rate.
- No work without approval. We won't do anything beyond what you've approved, and we'll call you in the event of immediate safety issues.
- Customer-supplied parts. We don't install parts you supply yourself.
- Initial inspection fee. If you're a member, it's always waived. If you're not, it's waived upon approval of proposed repairs.
- Diagnostic fees. Fees vary by the type of diagnostic needed (general, battery/charging, cooling system, brake inspection, water intrusion, EVAP, A/C) and include tax and fees; ask at booking or during your visit for the current fee.
- Pricing by location. Vancouver's base labor rate is set below Portland's, to help offset Washington's sales tax.
- Alignments. Offered at Central, Moreland, Uptown, St. Johns, and Tigard.
- DEQ readiness check. Free if you're a member; a small fee applies if you're not. A separate Oregon DEQ state fee applies either way.
- DEQ eligibility. Vehicle must be model year 2006 or newer, with no active Check Engine Light, to qualify for a DEQ readiness check.
- Payment. We accept all major credit cards, debit cards, cash, and checks, with financing available through Affirm, Klarna, and SunBit.
Warranty
- Parts & labor. Your parts and labor are covered for 24 months / 24,000 miles, whichever comes first.
- Out-of-state / nationwide coverage. Honored nationwide, but only when the repair happens at an official NAPA AutoCare Center (not just any NAPA-affiliated store). If there's no NAPA AutoCare Center near you, a repair done elsewhere won't be reimbursed. Find a NAPA AutoCare Center.
- Full coverage (24 mo / 24,000 mi): A/C, heating & climate control; brakes; engine cooling; electrical (starting/charging); exhaust; fuel system; ignition; electronic engine management & onboard computer systems; cruise control; steering/suspension, wheel bearings, CV/U-joints, half shafts, driveshafts.
- Limited coverage (90 days): Internal engine components and associated gaskets/seals; internal transmission components (including clutch) and associated gaskets/seals; differential repairs and associated gaskets/seals.
- Not covered. Damage from abnormal use, misuse, neglect, accident, alteration, or tampering by anyone other than Green Drop Garage staff isn't covered. If you get non-warranty work done at the same time as warranty service, that's billed separately.
Tire / Road Hazard Warranty
Applies if you bought your tires from Green Drop Garage after 10/1/2019 — original purchaser only — for 1 year from the purchase date.
- Flat repair: Free at any Green Drop Garage location if the tire can be safely repaired.
- Replacement: Covered up to the full replacement cost if the failure happens within the first 25% of treadwear; after that, you're charged for consumed tread (prorated) plus taxes/fees. Tires worn to 3/32" aren't eligible.
- Not covered: Vandalism, accidents, commercial use, racing, off-road use, snow chains/studs, irregular wear from misalignment/suspension/inflation/rotation issues, tires transferred from another vehicle, Ultra High Performance or Light Truck tires (treadwear proration only).
Tire Policies
- AWD / 4WD. Your four tires must be within 3/32" of each other in tread depth; if they're not, we replace all four together — no exceptions.
- FWD / RWD. You can replace in pairs. New tires always go on the rear axle.
- Repairs. We'll do a maximum of 2 repairs/patches per tire; a 3rd repair means replacement. Tread-area punctures only.
- Used tires. We don't sell or install used tires, except for seasonal swaps between your own winter/summer sets.
- Mismatched tires. We advise against mixing brand/model/speed rating, but we won't refuse the service if that's what you want, we'll just document it on the repair order.
- Minimum tread. 3/32" or less is considered worn out. We won't align or rotate your tires at or below that threshold.
- Tire age. If your tires have a DOT manufacturing date 8+ years old, we consider them unserviceable and will need to replace them before related services.
Vehicle Eligibility & Service Limits
- Not serviced. Motorcycles, exotic vehicles, large RVs (Ford Transit conversions OK), specialty vehicles, significantly modified vehicles, Jaguar, Range Rover, and Land Rover.
- Diesel vehicles. We service diesels for regular maintenance — oil changes, tires, brakes, and suspension work only.
- Salvage / rebuilt titles. Vehicles with a title status reflecting compromised integrity are not serviced.
- Active recalls. If we identify an active manufacturer recall during your visit, we'll let you know and point you to the dealership or the NHTSA recall lookup. We don't perform recall repairs ourselves.
- Declining a safety-critical repair. If you decline a repair flagged as safety-critical, we document it on the repair order and you'll sign a release waiver before we return your vehicle.
- Refusal of service. We may decline to service you for mistreatment of our staff, creating an unsafe work environment, or unpaid balances.
