Who We Are
We're Green Drop Garage, a family-owned, eco-friendly, full-service auto shop. Our story began with one person who loved working on cars and figured getting yours fixed shouldn't feel so stressful. We're still here for the same reason: to give you back your time, money, and sanity, with honest answers and work you can count on.
Cars are complex, but that doesn't mean caring for them has to be overwhelming or expensive. That's why you get a different kind of car care experience, designed to make taking care of your vehicle as hassle-free as possible. Think: peace of mind every time you leave.
When you come to see us, you'll meet staff who listen, explain issues in plain English, and prioritize finding the fix that makes the most sense for you, regardless of what your reasons may be.
Since 2009
Where It Started
Green Drop started in 2009 with just one person: our founder, Farhad Ghafarzade, converting diesel cars to run on vegetable oil. Along the way, he grew fed up with the typical car care experience, where corners got cut and the customer’s experience was an afterthought. Portland drivers deserved a repair shop that shared their values, so he built one, in a converted WWII textile factory in Southeast Portland that our Central shop still calls home.
Today Green Drop has seven shops across the Portland area, and the idea hasn't changed: smiling staff, your car's status explained in plain English, and you in full control of every decision.

You decide what makes sense for your car, your budget, and your life. We'll walk you through everything we find and what we'd recommend, then let you set the priorities. No pressure, ever.
Come early and often.
Like your doctor or dentist, we'd rather see you for regular checkups than emergencies. Routine visits are how we keep your car healthy and keep the bad stuff at bay.
Certified B Corporation
Better for Your Car, Better for Portland
Sustainability has been part of Green Drop since the veggie oil days. Today we're a Certified B Corporation, which means we're held to verified standards for how we treat our people, our community, and the planet. In the shop, that means environmentally conscious practices wherever they don't compromise what's best for your car.
- Used oil, coolant, and other fluids are recycled, not dumped.
- Scrap metal, old batteries, and tires are recycled, too.
- When a remanufactured or rebuilt part is as good as new, we'll offer it, which saves you money and keeps usable parts out of the landfill.
